All the way to the Bank

Friday, November 11th, 2005

I had an incredible dinner I just had to post. I went to dinner with a friend and his parents at this modern French restaurant called Bank. Spent like 3 hours. I had: the house Merlot, foie gras parfait w/ pear & apple chutney and brioche then mixed game pie and finished with a cafe […]

Coach Tour

Sunday, August 28th, 2005

Bright and early this morning the group and I headed off for a coach tour of Westminister where all of London’s major landmarks are near. We started off at St. James’ Cathedral and walked over the Millenium Bridge by the Globe Theatre and then got back on the coach. We then passed by Westminister Abbey, […]

Borough Market

Saturday, August 27th, 2005

I’ve been looking forward to this for over a month. I finally went to the Borough market and it was bigger and more crowded than I expected it to be. All the food was very good it seemed and the only barrier was the price of some items. Regardless there are some decent deals to […]

Ciudad

Thursday, August 4th, 2005

The restaurant Ciudad in downtown Los Angeles is, as my friend Caren put it, a bundle of contradicitons. It has a very art gallery interior design but has picnic table-like chairs and butcher paper on the tables? It’s also dimly lit and playing background jazz music so you would expect it to romantic but it’s […]

Malibu Seafood Review

Wednesday, July 27th, 2005

I’ve been planning a trip to this establishment for sometime but have been delaying it for months because I had nobody to go with. Even though a place like this is a prime candidate for dining solo, I didn’t feel like going all the way up to Malibu alone. So when a friend visited, I finally got off my ass and went as part of my efforts to provide a Southern California shop and dine weekend. The Malibu Seafood Fresh Fish Market and Dining Patio is just that. It’s a fish market with a takeout window located on the Pacific Coast Highway. It was further from Los Angeles than I expected but that’s because of the inescapable day time traffic. When we finally arrived there were quite a few people there for a location in the middle of nowhere at 3:00 in the afternoon. Half the people were buying fresh seafood and the other half was ordering the greasy fingerfoods I myself had come to seek.

This color will not fade

I finally got around to establishing a new blog. I’ve never been a huge fan of blogs since many of them are personal soap operas on LiveJournal or Xanga. I was further repulsed by blogs when the media started howling about them during the 2004 Presidential Elections. I thought to myself, obviously the bloggers will […]
